Aspiring model Adrienne N. Martin died mysteriously…
Adrienne Nicole Martin, the 27-year-old girlfriend of beer mogul August Busch IV, died under mysterious circumstances at his home in an exclusive gated community of St. Louis on Sunday.
According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, who broke the story, it took police several days to release information about the death.
Adrienne was divorced earlier this year from Dr. Kevin J. Martin. He practices medicine in Cape Girardeau, Mo. and has custody of their 8-year-old son.
Busch, 46, the great-great-grandson of Anheuser-Busch founder Adolphus Busch, was reportedly at the residence when his girlfriend of one year, an aspiring model and former Hooters employee, was pronounced dead at 1:26 p.m. Sunday by the St. Louis County medical examiner.
There were no obvious signs of trauma and it will be six weeks before toxicology screening results will be completed. Police investigators are looking into the possibility of a drug overdose.
Busch was the last in a long line of family members to run Anheuser-Busch, serving as CEO from 2006 until it was sold to Belgian company InBev for $52 billion in 2008.
He married Kathryn “Kate” Thatcher, sixteen years his junior, in August 2006. They divorced in November 2008.
Busch IV is no stranger to trouble. In 1983, he crashed his black Corvette. His girlfriend, 22-year-old Michele Frederick, was killed. He fled the scene and claimed amnesia. He was charged with manslaughter but after a seven month investigation, authorities declined to prosecute because blood and urine evidence taken from the suspect were lost.
Two years later he was acquitted of assault charges by a St. Louis jury. This case involved several police detectives who claimed he tried to run them down during a high speed police chase. Officers shot out his tire to end the pursuit.
